Find answers to common questions about NDC Workforce
To report an absence:
- Send a text message with "absent" or "sick" to the designated phone number
- You'll receive an SMS with a link within seconds
- Click the link to open the absence report form
- Fill in your details and reason for absence
- Submit the form - your supervisor will be notified automatically
The designated phone number for absence reporting is provided by your supervisor or HR department. It's typically posted in break rooms and on employee notice boards. If you don't have the number, contact your supervisor or HR.
No! NDC Workforce is completely web-based and works through SMS and your phone's browser. You don't need to download any apps. Simply send a text message and click the link you receive - it works on any smartphone.
To access your employee portal:
- Visit the NDC Workforce website
- Click on "Employee Portal"
- Enter your Employee ID and password
- You'll see your absence history, profile, and resources
Note: If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" link to reset it.
You can report the following types of absences:
- Sick Leave: When you're ill or have a medical appointment
- Personal Leave: For personal matters
- Emergency: Unexpected urgent situations
- Late Arrival: When you'll be late for your shift
- Early Departure: When you need to leave early
- Vacation: Planned time off
When you submit an absence report, the following people are automatically notified via SMS:
- Your direct supervisor
- Department manager
- HR administrators (if configured)
They receive all details including your reason, expected duration, and reference number.
To check your absence status:
- Log in to your Employee Portal
- View your "Absence History" tab
- Each absence shows a status badge (Pending, Approved, Denied, or Reviewed)
- You can also see any notes from administrators
Yes! NDC Workforce takes security very seriously:
- All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Secure Firebase backend with authentication
- SMS links expire after 24 hours
- Access is logged and monitored
- Compliance with data protection regulations
- Regular security audits and updates
If you need to update your phone number or other personal information:
- Contact your HR department
- Provide your Employee ID and new information
- HR will update your records in the system
- You'll be able to use your new number for future absence reports
Yes! When filling out the absence form, you can specify the expected duration:
- Partial Day
- 1 Day
- 2 Days
- 3-5 Days
- 1 Week
- Extended (More than 1 week)
Your supervisor will be notified of the expected duration and can follow up as needed.
